Liberty had several archers place in the top 25 in various divisions at this past Saturday's and Sunday's shoot in Harrisonburg.

The competition was a combined collegiate, Junior Olympic, professional, and amateur event that attracted a record total of 698 shooters.
Archers shot a total of 60 arrows from 20 meters away from their targets each day and were scored against others in their respective disciplines of barebow, compound, and fixed pin.
"It was a good time, and a great learning experience for those archers who had never shot tournaments before, and others who had previous experience," Liberty Head Coach Jason Lynch said. "We had a handful of archers who beat their scores from last year, though nobody other than Kayla managed to podium this year."
In his first time competing collegiately, Anson Payne placed ninth in the men's barebow division while senior Justin Lynn finished 10th in men's fixed pin. Three others placed in the top 15 in their divisions in their first times competing at regionals: Alexi Stutzman (13th in women's fixed pin), junior Ellen Brungard (15th in women's fixed pin), and sophomore Nathan Wilkins (15th in men's fixed pin).
Junior Levi Rodgers placed 17th in men's compound while junior Steven Loomans took 18th in the men's fixed pin division followed by freshman Trevor Hill (22nd), who was competing for the first time.
The Flames and Lady Flames also had strong individual and team showings at the Jan. 27-28 Easton Youth & Collegiate Trophy Tournament in Manheim, Pa., where Cassady was also the runner-up in women's collegiate barebow.
Sophomore James Eshleman placed 10th in the men's collegiate bowhunter division, followed by Wilkins (12th), Lynn (14th), and Loomans (19th), Hill (20th), and freshmen Adam Pluff (21st) and Malachi Umana (25th). Stutzman came in 11th in women's collegiate bowhunter while Payne was 18th in men's barebow and Rodgers and senior Harry Rogish placed 19th and 23rd, respectively, in men's compound.
The team will shift from indoor to outdoor practices after Spring Break in preparation for the April 20-21 USA Archery Collegiate Target East Region event back at JMU. That will be a qualifier for the USA Archery Collegiate Target National Championships on May 16-19 at Georgia Southern University.
