Kelsea Barta and Klein put away assists from Haring and senior forward Guin Donovan in the first three minutes of the third period before completing the scoring unassisted with 5:06 remaining in regulation.
"The girls played well," Lady Flames Assistant Coach Justin Forth said. "They had lots of opportunities and did a better job executing in the third period."
In Saturday's second game, Klein again got the game winner with an unassisted goal at the 12:36 mark of the opening period. Freshman forward
Sabrina Honeycutt (assisted by freshman Ariana Pastoor and junior
Allison Gailitis) and Williams (assisted by freshman
Emma Bardwell) stretched Liberty's lead to 3-0 by scoring 52 seconds apart midway through the second. Finally in the third, sophomore forward Abby Rogers scored a power-play goal off assists from Donovan and Klein with 11:08 to play.
"It was nice to get the shut out for Mebs," Forth said. "Defensively, we were good all weekend, which is a step in the right direction."
