Liberty debuted its program with a first-place finish at the Stars & Stripes Invitational in Woodbridge, Va.
Liberty University's synchronized skating team had an impressive showing at the second annual Stars and Stripes Invitational held Nov. 2 in Woodbridge, Va., winning the Open Collegiate division with an outstanding performance.
The team received positive constructive feedback from the judges at the competition which it will apply to the program as it prepares to compete in the Nov. 22-24 Boston Synchronized Skating Classic in Norwood, Mass.
"The girls skated well, but we have room to improve for our upcoming competition," Lady Flames Head Coach Hannah Pulley said.
In Boston, where it finished first out of five teams last November, Liberty will skate against seven other programs in its division including the University of Vermont, the University of Maryland, Princeton University and Syracuse University's synchronized skating teams. The team will hold a competition send-off practice skate this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the LaHaye Ice Center.
After winter break, the Lady Flames will travel to Pennsylvania to compete in the Eastern Synchro Skating Sectional Championships, where they placed second out of seven teams in their division last season, on Jan. 25.
