Liberty entered its first Midwest Region circuit event of the season, the Tri-State Synchro Competition.
Liberty University's synchronized skating team traveled to Mentor, Ohio, to compete in the Tri-State Synchro Competition held this past Saturday in the Civic Center Ice Arena.
The Lady Flames competed against five Open Collegiate skating teams they had never before skated against, landing behind the first-place team from Northwestern as well as the University of Michigan and Trine University and ahead of fifth-place Michigan State and sixth-place host Ohio State.
This competition showed continued improvement from the team and also marked the final competitive skate for graduate Hailey Jordan and senior McKenna Powers.
The team performed well and showcased tremendous growth as a whole throughout this season.
"Team bonding and team culture has improved a lot through this whole season, and they've just grown closer to each other," Liberty Head Coach Hannah Pulley said. "We've also been able to evangelize more through our competitions this year."
The final event the team will be skating in is PraiseFest, set for April 27 in the LaHaye Ice Center. This event will be held in collaboration with the Lady Flames' figure skating team and is free to all Liberty students.
