The only incoming recruit in the Lady Flames’ 2025 class who is a true freshman, Chloe Moses plans to work for every minute she gets on the ice.
"I'm a grinder," said Moses, 18, who plays for the Honeybaked U19 team, a Tier I women's hockey team based in nearby Detroit, and also played lacrosse for her Dakota High School team. "I battle for pucks, forecheck, and do things that will make a difference in the game. I take pride in my work ethic and physicality. Whether it's blocking shots or making smart plays, I always try to be a helpful teammate."
That was also a quality that sold Liberty Head Coach Chris Lowes on Moses during the recruiting process, along with her ability to make an immediate impact for the Lady Flames.
"Two things stand out for me in Chloe's game: her offensive ability and her compete (level)," Lowe said. "Those are two very important attributes for her success here. I am excited for Chloe to get here in August so we can begin her journey. I think she has the ability to contribute immediately and be an important part of this program over her career."
In the 2023-24 season, Moses netted 15 goals and distributed eight assists.

"I focus on being a well-rounded player who can contribute offensively while also playing a strong two-way game," she added.
The factors that sold Moses on Liberty included the players themselves, who she met on her mid-season visit to Lynchburg, Va.
"The campus is beautiful, and I felt at home the moment I visited," Moses said. "The team was welcoming, and I connected with the girls right away. I also wanted to be part of a program where I could grow as both a player and a person while forming lifelong friendships."
She was also pleased to learn that Liberty's psychology department offers both specialties she is interested in pursuing, with plans to double major in criminal psychology and sport psychology.
"I made the Dean's List in my first semester at Macomb Community College," she said. "Balancing school and hockey is important to me, and I take pride in my academic success."
Moses is most looking forward to contributing in any way possible on the ice as the Lady Flames seek to defend their national championship — the seventh in program history, all since 2015.
"I'm excited to meet new people, build strong relationships with my teammates, and compete at a high level," she said. "College hockey will push me to improve, and I can't wait to embrace that challenge while making lifelong memories with my team."
