Coach Lowes (Peterborough, Ontario) played four seasons for the Flames (1998-2002) while obtaining his degree from Liberty. Lowes is entering his sixth season as the Head Coach of the Women’s Division I team at Liberty, after serving for nine years as Head Coach of the Flames’ Men’s Division II team.
The Lady Flames have had great success under Coach Lowes during his first five seasons, winning all four National Championships contested (beating Adrian in 2018, Lindenwood in 2019 and 2021, and Midland in 2022), before and after being ranked No. 1 throughout the 2019-20 season when COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the ACHA DI National Tournament. Liberty is also undefeated in all three WMCH Championship Tournaments in St. Louis, beating Minot State in the final in 2020 and 2021 and Midland in 2022.
Coach Lowes and his wife, Lisa, currently reside in the Lynchburg area. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Peyton and Shayne.
