The Flames and Lady Flames competed at an East Regional shoot this past weekend in Harrisonburg, Va., and will await results from other regions to determine their national placements.
The Flames and Lady Flames had several other archers with impressive showings. Alexandra Comer came in third in the collegiate women's Fixed Pin division while fellow senior Levi Rodgers finished fourth in the men's Fixed Pin division, followed closely by junior Nathan Wilkins in fifth. Senior Steven Loomans placed 10th and sophomore Adam Pluff 13th in that event.
Sophomore Trevor Hill placed seventh in the men's collegiate Compound division and junior Chloe Hamilton came in eighth in collegiate women's Barebow, followed by freshman Sarah Lindquist in ninth.
Once all the other regional competitions are completed, the overall USA Indoor Archery national standings will be compiled.
Liberty will now shift their practices from the indoor range in Fort Hill Shopping Center to the Liberty Mountain Gun Club's field archery range, to prepare for the April 26-27 USA Archery Collegiate Target East Regionals on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg. That will serve as a qualifier for the May 15-18 USA Archery Target Nationals at Michigan State.
