Two power-play goals boosted Liberty (12-0) to a 3-1 win and series sweep at Adrian.
The Lady Flames (12-0) converted two of their four power-play opportunities, including one on an empty-netter in the final second of regulation, when junior forward Ellie Sarauer finished assists from junior defenseman Sophia Adamek and senior defenseman and alternate captain Emerson Oakes.
Graduate forward Zosia Adamek started the scoring with a power-play goal just 3:37 after the opening faceoff, finishing feeds from Oakes and sophomore defenseman Isabelle Pelletier.
Then in the second period, sophomore forward Presley Ellis doubled the lead with the only goal of the game scored at even strength, capitalizing on assists from graduate defenseman Sammy Peebles and graduate forward Isobel Pettem-Shand at the 16:20 mark.
With just 44 seconds remaining in the second period and Adrian on a 5-on-3 power play, the Bulldogs (3-5-3) finally broke through for the first goal against Liberty's defense in approximately 490 minutes — stretching more than eight hours of play spanning nine games.
Taryn Morris trimmed the deficit to 2-1 by finishing feeds from Addison Scoville and Sydney Haggart to snap senior goalie and alternate captain Alex Keith's bid for a sixth consecutive shutout.
Liberty outshot Adrian by a 48-27 margin, including by a staggering 17-3 margin in the third period, and Keith made 26 saves to improve to 6-0 on the season.
The Lady Flames return to the road for games at Niagara on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. and Friday at 1:30 p.m. before traveling back to Lynchburg, Va., just in time to participate in Homecoming festivities with several Liberty Hockey alumni expected in town.
