Western riders repeat Reserve High Point Team honors for Region 4 shows at North Carolina State

Alex Dixon earned Reserve High Point Rider in Saturday’s first show and qualified for the Region 4 Championships along with Rebekah Isenhour.
Liberty University's Western equestrian team finished as Reserve High Point Team in both shows hosted by North Carolina State University on Saturday in Durham, N.C.
Junior rider Alex Dixon was named Reserve High Point Rider for the morning show after placing first in Reining and second in Open Horsemanship. She also placed second in Open Horsemanship, while junior Savanna Hatfield captured a blue ribbon for winning her Rookie B Horsemanship division, followed by Ayva Anderson, who placed second.
Junior Caylan Barton and senior Angel Lundin received blue ribbons for finishing first in their respective Beginner Horsemanship class, and sophomore Rebekah Isenhour, captured a red ribbon for placing second in her class. Senior Shelby Coble also placed second in Level 2 Horsemanship and third in Ranch riding.
In the afternoon show, the Lady Flames again earned Reserve High Point Team honors as Anderson, Coble, and Lundin claimed blue ribbons in Rookie B Horsemanship, Level 2 Horsemanship, and Beginner Horsemanship, respectively.
Senior Makenzie Cox placed second in Level 1 Horsemanship, as did Isenhour in Beginner Horsemanship, while Dixen (Reigning) and Anna Norris (Rookie B Horsemanship) earned white ribbons for third place.
Isenhour achieved the necessary points inf Beginner Horsemanship to move up a level to Rookie A Horsemanship and qualify for the Region 4 Championships in that event. Dixon also qualified in the Reining division.
The two shows at NC State concluded the fall semester of competition for the Lady Flames Western riders, who will resume Region 4 shows in the spring semester at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on Feb. 13.
