The three-sport standout in hockey, volleyball, and golf at Willmar High School in Minnesota enjoys water skiing and wake surfing in her free time and will learn to fly at Liberty.
Liberty University's ACHA Division I women's hockey team's third recruit of the Fall 2024 class, Chloe Lownsbury, is a forward with aspirations to become a pilot after completing her B.S. in Aviation through the School of Aeronautics.
"I chose Liberty because of the Christ-centered education and environment," she said. "I know the Lord has incredible plans for me at Liberty these next few years."Â
She has equally ambitious goals to help the Lady Flames reach new heights offensively throughout her career on the ice.
"I am most excited to continue to improve and play the game I love at the next level," Lownsbury said. "I am a hard-working, focused, and smart player on the ice. I bring energy and leadership to the team, as well as strength. I can't wait to see what the next few years is going to look like on this team."Â
A senior at Willmar (Minn.) High School, where she also has competed in volleyball and golf, Lownsbury enjoys water skiing, wake surfing, and "anything outdoors" in her free time.

Lownsbury scored 15 goals and distributed nine assists in 27 games last season.
In hockey, she has earned Central Lakes Conference Performer of the Week honors as well as the Hardest Worker Award and a "Warrior" of her Summer Warrior Camp. In 27 games played last season, she scored 15 goals and added nine assists and through 19 games this season, she has netted seven goals and 12 assists.
Lady Flames Head Coach Chris Lowes said Lownsbury made a positive impression on him throughout the recruiting process.
"Chloe is a talented hockey player and a great fit here at Liberty," he said. "We connected with Chloe at the end of her junior year and after a couple conversations I knew Chloe could be a great addition to our program. Once she came and visited in September, there was no doubt I wanted her as a student-athlete here at Liberty."
She joins former five-year forward and head captain Shelby Bradford, forwards and alternate captains Brityn Fussy (who graduated in December) and her younger sister, junior Brielle Fussy, and freshman forward Elle Sarauer as Lady Flames who are natives of Minnesota.
"We have had a lot of success in the past four years finding great kids from Minnesota, and I think Chloe will keep that trend going," Lowes said. "Chloe is a strong forward that likes the puck on her stick and has a nose for the net. She has a nice shot release and all the skills to be successful in the ACHA. This is an important recruiting class with us losing a bunch of talented forwards to graduation, and I am excited for Chloe to come in and contribute to our success."
