Jon Barbour

Title:
Associate Head Coach

While earning his B.Sc. in Kinesiology, Coach Barbour played goal for Liberty’s DII team in the 2006-2007 season alongside his friend, Rett McGibbon. He has also spent time as a color broadcaster for the Liberty DI Men’s team.

Since 2009, Coach Barbour joined McGibbon to fill out the coaching staff for the Liberty DIII Men’s hockey team. During his tenure with DIII, he has developed multiple goaltenders who have gone on to play higher levels of Liberty hockey. In 2016, Barbour assisted in bringing the team to compete for the first time in the ACHA DIII National Tournament.

Coach Barbour currently serves in Virginia as a State Trooper and is working to complete his M.Sc. in Criminal Justice within the next few years.
