Joel Upole

After studying Biblical Studies at Word of Life Institute in 2000, Coach Upole served in Sports Ministry for the last 17 years and has trained at the International Sports Leadership School in South Africa. He has prepared church leaders in over 7 countries to use sports as a tool to reach people for Christ. In addition to being admission and life coach certified with BACLC, Coach Upole maintains membership on the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board.

Coach Upole currently works as Coordinator of Enrollment and Student Services Head Coach at Light University Online and has for the last 7 years. Moving quickly in a short period of time, he also launched a new marketing format at Light University with the American Association of Christian Counselors. Previously, he led another online school through the integration of the Jack Welch MBA program.

As Coach Upole begins his 2^nd season with Liberty University Men’s Division III hockey team, he will continue his 11-year role as Chaplain to the Lynchburg Hillcats in minor league baseball.

Coach Upole lives in Lynchburg and has two beautiful daughters, Kiaerah and Nadiah, who are 13 and 10 years old.
