Blake Dunson

Assistant Coach

Blake is in his first year as the Distance Coach for the Men’s Swimming and Diving program. He helped start the program in its first year as an athlete. Dunson’s goal for the program is to build a foundation that allows the program to contend for a national championship on a yearly basis.

Coach Dunson is a Missionary Kid and grew up all over Brazil before coming to the US for high school.

Blake has been coaching swimming for the past four years in various capacities. Outside of Liberty, he works as a coach locally for the Boonsboro Blue Marlins summer league team, as well as working with the Lynchburg YMCA (LY) club team. He is excited to be with Liberty this year. Coach Dunson states, “Being able to return to Liberty’s pool deck as a coach after starting the program as an athlete is an incredible full-circle opportunity that I am very blessed to have. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish.”
