Entering his fourth season with the Flames, Matt Allen hopes to help lead Liberty to back to back NCWA National Championship. Matt completed his undergraduate degree in 2018 at UNCP in exercise/sports science . He later completed his master degree in 2020 at Liberty in exercise science with a focus on human performance to help him to become a better coach and preparing himself to help lead the next generation to follow Christ. The Roxboro, North Carolina native was solid wrestler at Person High School, where he was a state qualifier at heavy weight his junior year and was a team captain senior year. Allen represented team North Carolina at East Coast Duals during his high school career. He was wrestling club president for 2 years. His sophomore year of undergrad is when he started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke, North Carolina, where help lead the Rams from not having any state qualifier in 15 year to finishing 3^rd in the 4A state duals, winning their first conference championship in school history, and taking seven wrestler to the NCHSAA wrestling state tournament in his last year of coaching.
