Charisse is an Assistant Coach for the Women's Wrestling team. Our women's team mission is “to cultivate Christ-centered, competitive, well-rounded women of God who pursue excellence in the sport of wrestling.” Further, we are committed to developing and fostering the character qualities of tenacity, determination, grit, commitment, and Ohana/sisterhood through intentional and high-level training. As a 5th year program, we have produced 5 Individual NCWA National Championships and 9 NCWA National All-Americans. Our team placed 4th in the 2019-2020 NCWA National Tournament and finished 2nd at the 2019-2020 NCWA National Duals Tournament. Throughout our season we compete both in freestyle and collegiate wrestling as we contend against top women’s teams in the nation.
During her competitive seasons (2018-2020) wrestling for Liberty, Charisse achieved a NCWA National Championship in 2019 and was a National finalist in 2020. In partnership with her 4-time NCWA National Champion sister Cendall Manley, they led the Women’s Wrestling Team in qualifying 9 women for the 2019-2020 national tournament, yielded 5 individual championships, and placed 4th in the NCWA Women’s National standings. Charisse is passionate about the sport of wrestling and views this sport as an avenue to train and encourage women to pursue excellence and the glory of God in all things. Prior to joining the flames, Charisse was a Cheerleader from 2013-2016 at Azusa Pacific University.
In addition to coaching, Charisse completed her second master’s degree in Human Services: Marriage and Family Counseling from LU in 2020. She also works with students of multiple ages to assist them in their educational pursuits. Charisse is zealous in her desire to make an impact for the Kingdom of God through building meaningful relationships with others and providing training through education and/or athletic opportunities.
