Coach Thomas Wayne Childress is currently a 3rd Dan Black Belt under Grand Master Robert J. Fujimura and has also been named a Branch Instructor under GM Fujimura. He has served as Head Coach since 2015 and began his tenure with the team in 2012 as an Assistant Coach.
In addition to his Taekwondo achievements, Coach Childress earned his Black Sash in Wu Chun Su Kung Fu under Sifu Calvin Buck. His martial arts background reflects years of dedication to training, instruction, and leadership.
Beyond the martial arts community, Coach Childress has devoted 34 years to law enforcement as a police officer. He has also served as a Defensive Tactics Instructor for 25 years, bringing extensive experience in personal protection, training, and professional development.
Coach Childress continues to combine his martial arts expertise, coaching experience, and public service background to mentor students and contribute to the growth and success of his program.
