Originally from Absecon, NJ, Coach Debbie Prowse started her rowing career in 1983 as a freshman at Holy Spirit High School. During her high school rowing career, she rowed on two Junior National rowing teams and was selected to race at two US Olympic Sport Festivals where she received silver and gold medals her sophomore and junior years. She went on to row at Boston University for four years and won a National Championship her senior year in the Women’s Heavyweight Varsity 8 boat after rowing an undefeated season with her teammates. Coach Prowse returned to the rowing world in the spring of 2015 when she started working with the Liberty Flames rowing team.
Coach Prowse resides in Huddleston, VA with her husband Jeff, also a graduate and former rower for Boston University. Together they own Mitchell’s Point Marina and SML Boat Rentals at Smith Mountain Lake, VA. They have two sons, Brian and William.
