Tyler Campbell serves as the Head Coach of Liberty University Rock Climbing, where he combines his passion for the outdoors with a deep commitment to student development. He began climbing in 2010 during his sophomore year at Liberty and quickly fell in love with the sport. Since joining the coaching staff in 2016—first as an Assistant Coach and now as Head Coach—he has played a key role in the team’s growth, overseeing training, competition logistics, and athlete development.
Tyler’s coaching philosophy is rooted in both technical excellence and personal growth. He is passionate about helping athletes reach new heights not only in their climbing abilities but also in their character and faith. His goal is to create an environment where student-athletes are challenged, encouraged, and equipped to glorify God through their sport.
In addition to coaching, Tyler serves as an Academic Mentoring Specialist for Club Sports at Liberty University. In this role, he provides tailored academic support and personal mentoring, helping student-athletes navigate both their educational and life goals. He also brings nearly a decade of leadership experience from his time as a Contact Center Supervisor in Liberty’s Student Accounts Office, where he led a team of 15 and focused on professional development and service excellence.
Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies from Liberty University and is dedicated to fostering excellence in both academic and athletic arenas.
