In his debut season as an Assistant Coach with the Men's D1 Hockey team, Ben Hughes hopes to continue to build off his success as the Head Coach for the Men's D2 Hockey team, while focusing on his player’s development throughout the whole season. Ben is originally from Jacksonville, Florida and former Liberty captain of the Div. I team where he played from 2014-2017. Prior to Liberty, Ben played for Shattuck St. Mary’s and Team Illinois, along with one year in the USHL and three in the NAHL. Player accomplishments include being a three-time National Select Team Festival Invitee, U.S. National Team Development Program Top 40 Invitee, and a three-time Tier 1 AAA National Championship Finalist. Ben graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Human Resource Management, and in 2018 completed his MBA, both from Liberty University.
