The 2025 – 2026 season marks Josh Graham’s second year with the Liberty University Men’s Division II team. Coach Graham now serves as an assistant coach under new head coach, Christian Garland and currently oversees the defensemen and works with the penalty kill. During the 2024 -2025 season, Coach Graham served as a volunteer coach and assisted former head coach Ben Hughes with practice design and game structure & system philosophy. The Liberty University men’s D2 team earned their 6th consecutive Auto-Bid for the ACHA D2 national tournament.
In 2023 – 2024, Coach Graham returned to the Liberty Women’s D1 team as an assistant coach for a single season and serve under head coach Chris Lowes. During his time with the women’s D1 team, he coached for the forwards an implemented new offensive zone strategies which shaped the offense for the team. He also helped guide the women’s D1 team to their 4th WMCH title and the team’s 10th consecutive ACHA Final Four appearance.
From 2020 – 2023 was the head coach of the Liberty Men’s D3 team and complied a record of 41-27-2 with a .586 winning percentage. In the 2022-2023 season, Graham oversaw the best season in program history with a record of 19-8-1 and overseeing the teams highest national ranking ever at 8th in the country. The team also had a 10-0 perfect record in ACCHL Conference play. Graham led the Men's team to two AAU National Tournament appearances in 2022 and 2023. He was also honored in three consecutive years as the ACCHL Coach of the Year for his efforts. In all three years Graham led the DIII team to the ACCHL Conference Championship games.
From 2017-2020 Graham served in various capacities for the Liberty Women's DI team serving as the goalie and video coach. During Graham’s tenure with the Women’s DI program, he would assist the Flames to back-to-back National Championships (18/19) and the programs first ever WMCH Conference Championship in 2020. Due to COVID-19, the Flames were unable to defend their title in the 2020 ACHA National Championship Tournament. Coach Graham previously served with the women’s team from 2008-2012 as a goalie and assistant coach.
Prior to returning to Liberty in 2017, Coach Graham was the Head Coach of the Central Alberta Amazon’s of the AJFHL and led the program to their fourth South Division Championship in 2017 and runners up in the AJFHL League Championship series vs the Sherwood Park Steele.
Over the course of Coach Graham’s four years in the AJFHL, he would have 11 players named to the AJFHL All-Star South Team and three players earning league awards. In 2016, Coach Graham was named to the AJFHL All-Star South Team coaching staff.
Coach Graham completed his Hockey Canada High Performance certification in 2016 in Kamloops BC, he also holds his Development I and Coach Stream certifications from Hockey Canada and USA Hockey level IV certification.
Coach Graham graduated from Liberty University in 2010 with a B.S. in Sport Management and Minor in Coaching, in 2012 with a M.S. in Sport Administration and in 2021 with a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies. He currently lives with his wife Laura and two daughters, Claire and Abigail in Lynchburg, VA.
