Liberty Dance Team Tryouts
2025-2026 LIBERTY UNIVERSITY DANCE TEAM AUDITIONS
Interested in joining Liberty University’s Dance Team? The Liberty University Dance Team (LUDT) performs at several athletic events, including all home football games, select men’s and women’s basketball games, and various other sporting events such as Ice Hockey and Lacrosse. The team also performs special pregame and halftime shows with the Liberty University Marching Band and Indoor Drumline.
In addition to serving as a Spirit Squad, the LUDT is a competitive program that competes annually at a Division I collegiate national competition. Dance Team members average 20+ hours per week between practices, workouts, home games, competitions, community outreach, and appearances. The team is a year-round commitment, with practices and events throughout the year. Members arrive early in the summer and participate in training during select University breaks.
As a Liberty University Student-Athlete, Dance Team member, and representative of the Spirit of Liberty, here is what we are looking for:

PRELIMINARY TRYOUT
Registration is now OPEN and will CLOSE after March 16th, 2026. This round will consist of a virtual video submission. If you would like to be considered for Recruitment Weekend on February 20th–22nd, 2026, the same video submission must be submitted no later than February 1st, 2026.
Registration Directions: Register using the Preliminary Tryout link below. Within the registration form, you will be required to answer application questions that will be considered when determining finalist invitations. After completing the application questions and submitting your registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing important information regarding your video submission.
Video Submission Directions: You will receive an email with filming guidelines, along with links to a pom combination and the accompanying music. You will be asked to film an introduction, the required skills, the pom combination, a solo clip, and include a photo/headshot. You will then be asked to email your video to the address specified in the rubric directions.

FINAL TRYOUT
The FINAL TRYOUT will be held on campus IN-PERSON on May 2nd & 3rd, 2026. Finalists will be selected from the preliminary round and will be contacted by email with further tryout details by March 23rd. If you have a conflict that prevents you from attending in-person, please submit your preliminary video and include details about your conflict in the same email. If you qualify as a finalist, we will provide you with further instructions.

- February 1, 2026 – Video deadline for Recruitment Weekend consideration
- February 6, 2026 – Recruitment Weekend invitations sent
- February 20–22, 2026 – Recruitment Weekend
- March 16, 2026 – Video deadline for final tryout consideration
- March 23, 2026 – Finalist notifications sent
- May 2–3, 2026 – In-person tryouts
