Rock the Rink previews upcoming national tournaments near St. Louis, Jacksonville

Liberty will send four of its five programs to ACHA and AAU National Championships.
This week's Rock the Rink podcast looks back at the recent conference and regional playoffs for Liberty University's ACHA Division I and DII women's and ACHA Division II and AAU DIII men's hockey teams and ahead to the ACHA DI men's (March 14-17), DI women's (March 18-22), and DII women's (March 15-19) National Championships near St. Louis and the AAU DIII men's (March 11-15) National Championships in Jacksonville, Fla.
The show is anchored by Liberty Broadcast Experience's Annie Cory with commentary from Club Sports Director of Video & Media Patrick Strawn, Club Sports Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Performance Chris Kerr, and ACHA Division II women's hockey Assistant Coach Justin Forth.
The Lady Flames' seven-time ACHA Division I national championship women's hockey team, seeded No. 1 in the nation and No. 1 for the 12-team tournament in the Centene Community Center in Maryland Heights, Mo., will be in the same pool as last season when they defeated No. 12 Grand Canyon University 7-0 and No. 8 Niagara University, 6-1, to advance to the Final Four. They proceeded to oust Midland University 5-2 in the semifinals before edging Maryville (Mo.) University, 2-1 in double overtime, to clinch their seventh national title. They Lady Flames will face the Antelopes on March 18 at 9 p.m. EST and the Purple Eagles on March 19 at 9 p.m. EST with the winner of the pool going on to the semifinals.
Liberty's DII women, meanwhile, secured the No. 1 seed out of the Southeast after winning the DVCHC Tournament for the first time with a 7-0 semifinal win over Delaware and 7-1 championship triumph over the Naval Academy in Aston, Pa. The Lady Flames will challenge Jamestown on March 15 at 12:15 p.m. EST, Northeastern at noon on March 16, and the University of St. Thomas on March 17 at 2:45 p.m. at the Centene Community Ice Center, with only the top team out of that pool advancing to the March 18-19 Final Four.
As was revealed on the Feb. 23 ACHA Selection Show, produced by Liberty Broadcast Experience, Liberty's DI men will await the winner between No. 12 University of Utah (15-9-1) and No. 21 Northwood (Mich.) University (25-10), on Saturday, March 14, at 11:15 a.m. EST near St. Louis.The Flames moved up one spot to No. 5 in the national rankings even after going 0-1-1 in its final regular season series against No. 2 Ohio University at the LaHaye Ice Center.
Liberty's DIII men's team, which defended its ACCHL Tournament title last weekend at the LIC, is seeded No. 1 for the second year in a row at the AAU National Championships and will await the winner of Wednesday's 8 a.m. matchup between Alvernia (Mich.) State University and Buffalo (N.Y.) State University in the quarterfinals played later in the same day at 8:30 p.m. in the Community First Igloo in Jacksonville.
