Rock the Rink podcast co-hosts Patrick Strawn and Rett McGibbon, who broadcast a large share of the Flames' games, will be the on-air talent for the first DI tournament reveal show at Liberty since 2014.
For the first time since 2014, Liberty University will be hosting a live streaming of the ACHA Division I men's hockey National Championships Selection Show out of its Liberty Broadcast Experience studios in Green Hall at 9 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The one-hour show will reveal the 24 teams that make the field to compete for the Murdoch Cup, as well as the first-round matchups for the tournament to be played March 13-18 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo., near St. Louis.
This production will be anchored by Liberty Sports Production Coordinating Producer Rett McGibbon and Club Sports Director of Video & Media Patrick Strawn, who regularly broadcast Flames hockey games at all levels in the LaHaye Ice Center in addition to hosting the weekly Rock the Rink podcast out of the studio. They will be complemented by Michigan Sports Radio Broadcaster Lou Gamelin in conducting interviews with coaches and players around the ACHA as well as offering analysis and previewing the tournament, with each offering their prediction for the 2025 tournament champion.
"We're excited to bring it back," Strawn said. "It helps give more exposure to the league which is always great. It was a lot of fun when we did it years ago and nice when we saw teams buy in and get excited about it as well."
