Liberty is offering a new 10-ticket package deal along with a season full of fun and exciting promotions to celebrate its 40th season of hockey.
The Flames open their regular season with single games against two ACHA Division II foes, the University of North Carolina on Sept. 13 and Florida Gulf Coast University on Sept. 20. The puck will drop for both games at 7 p.m. in the LaHaye Ice Center (LIC).
"It is going to be a crazy weekend with the home opener being on Homecoming Weekend (Sept. 13-14)," Club Sports Director of Marketing & Promotions Kim Jamison said, noting that a new specialty jersey will be introduced this year to celebrate the 40th year of Liberty Hockey. "It is navy blue, and they typically wear navy jerseys on the road, but they may wear them for Homecoming on Sept. 13."
The first Midnight Mayhem game is scheduled for Oct. 4 against Delaware, which will be followed by Tropical Night on Oct. 5. Jamison is working with Liberty's Commuter Life staff to set up a Hawaiian-themed tailgate luau outside the LIC, with sun hats on sale in the Pro Shop, before that night's 7 p.m. faceoff.
For the Oct. 18-19 series against Maryville (Mo.), Liberty will hold a Country Night for the opener and a Hometown Heroes Night sponsored by Impact First Responders for the rematch, honoring firefighters, police officers, and others actively serving in the line of duty.
The Flames will host Ohio University for Military Appreciation Night, sponsored by the U.S. Army National Guard, on Nov. 8 with a themed specialty jersey to be auctioned off.
A second Midnight Mayhem game will be played against Drexel University on Dec. 6 followed by a Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Toys for Tots on Dec. 7. The Flames will don special ugly Christmas-themed sweaters on that night.
The annual Star Wars Night is set for the Saturday game of Liberty's Spring semester-opening schedule against Calvin University on Jan. 17-18 before the Flames entertain Niagara for the third and final Midnight Mayhem contest on Jan. 24, with those jerseys auctioned off as well.
Promotions for the Valentine's Day game against Pittsburgh are still in the works, along with another possible retro-theme night and the Senior Night showdown against Ohio on Feb. 22.
While ticket prices have increased to $10 for general admission and $15 for reserved seats, the Liberty Ticket office has introduced 10 packs of general admission tickets at a discounted rate to be used at any of the 22 home games except the Midnight Mayhem matches. Military, senior, and student discounts can also be applied.
Visit the Liberty Ticket Office's online site to reserve tickets for any game this season.
