
Hunt Seat equestrian team Reserve Champions in home show, maintain first-place standing in Region 4

Liberty was led by seniors Jonathan Hutchinson and Giulia D'Addesi who won their Open Flat and Intermediate Fences divisions, respectively.
The Flames and Lady Flames earned 37 team points to place second to the Vixens (39) and ahead of third-place Randolph Macon College (29) as well as Christopher Newport University (24), the College of William & Mary (18), the University of Mary Washington (15), the University of Richmond (9), and Longwood University (6).
Liberty maintained its six-point lead on the Vixens in the regular-season team standings at the conclusion of its fall semester competition.
Senior John Hutchinson rode to a first-place finish in Open Flat followed closely by junior teammate Anna Pemble in third.
Senior Giulia D'Addesi came in first in Intermediate Fences and third in Limit Flat while senior Stephanie Russak earned a blue ribbon in Novice Flat and junior Caroline Roberts won the Pre-Novice Flat division.
Freshman Sophie Battin captured a red ribbon for second place in Limit Flat. Three riders received white ribbons for third place: junior Katie Staib (Intermediate Flat), senior Hannah Summerlin (Novice Flat), and senior Lexi Evans (Introductory).
Next weekend, Liberty's Western riding team will conclude its fall semester of competition with back-to-back Region 4 shows at Virginia Tech, on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. in Blacksburg, Va. The Hunt Seat team will open the spring semester with consecutive shows on Feb. 1 and 2 at Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.
