Video recaps top 10 Division I men's hockey plays from '20-21

Though the regular season was reduced by COVID-19, 2020-21 was a monumental year for Liberty University's ACHA Division I men's hockey team as the Flames returned to the ACHA Division I National Championships' "Frozen Four" for the first time since 2008.
Along the way to St. Louis, also the site of the 2022 ACHA National Championships, Liberty put together several highlight reel scores and saves, many of which are featured in this top 10 list compiled by the Club Sports Video & Media staff.
Besides winning eight of nine meetings with Ohio, the last in the April 18 ACHA DI National Championship quarterfinals, Liberty scored a 2-1 win over first-year NCAA Division I opponent Long Island, which was the source of three of the top 10 plays in the video.
Graduating senior forward Quinn Ryan — one of the Flames' all-time-leading scorers who is now looking to launch his professional career — plays a role in three of them, including the top two.
This season's team will welcome eight new recruits when tryouts start the week of Aug. 22. Opening night is just over one month away as Liberty prepares to host Indiana University of Pennsylvania at the LaHaye Ice Center (LIC) on Sept. 17 at 7 p.m., before entertaining North Carolina State University on Sept. 18 at 10 p.m. Season tickets are available online.
