Video looks at how Liberty hockey equips players to turn pro

Liberty University's five ACHA hockey teams have developed hundreds of men's and women's student-athletes since debuting its Division II men's program in the 1984-85 season and, since 2010, has produced 13 players who have competed professionally in 10 countries. Club Sports Assistant Director of Video & Media Patrick Strawn produced this video highlighting the experiences of a number of former Flames and Lady Flames athletes and the coaches who influenced their careers at Liberty.
The video includes interviews with former DI men's hockey players Jackson Kuhn, who has played professionally in Finland and Germany, Scott Morongell, who has played in the East Coast Hockey League and Federal Hockey League in the United States, and former DI women's forward Sarah Stevenson, the fourth-round draft pick of the Canadian Women's Hockey League's Toronto Furies in 2015. Strawn also interviews DI men's Head Coach Kirk Handy and Associate Head Coach Jeff Boettger as well as Club Sports Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning Chris Kerr.
