Kaden Knepper, a sophomore setter on Liberty University's men's volleyball team from Mechanicsburg, Pa., draws strength and assurance from Psalm 23:4 when he and the Flames are tested by fire.
One of the most familiar verses in the Bible, it reads, "For even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for He is with me. His rod and staff, they comfort me."
"That's my favorite verse and I apply it in, no matter how tough volleyball gets, just to know that God is by my side and that, no matter how tough the game gets or life gets, that I'll always have something to look to," Knepper said.
The Flames will open their spring season with their third annual "Midnight Mayham" showdown in the Vines Center, a rematch with Virginia Tech set for Jan. 27.
