Keepers of the Flame: Men's lacrosse player Brandt Grauss

Liberty University men's lacrosse defenseman Brandt Grauss is the featured student-athlete on this week's segment of "Keepers of the Flame." The senior from Alpharetta, Ga., explains how he has become a better teammate, player, and man by heeding his favorite Scripture verse, Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast."

As Paul describes here, and Grauss affirms from his own experience, it takes humility to come to God and acknowledge his need for a Savior, but it helps keep his successes on and off the field in perspective when he does.
